Modus Vivendi Rebranding

Corporate Design, Rebranding

The Modus Vivendi branding is all about craftsmanship.

The Viennese fashion label Modus Vivendi stands for handmade, urban knitwear made from 100% merino wool. All pieces are made at their in-house studio. The collections specifically focus on beanies in the pattern typical of Modus Vivendi. For the Modus Vivendi rebranding it was therefore important to make these qualities tangible in all aspects of the brand. Modus Vivendi fuses today’s modern zeitgeist with handmade elements to create their uncomplicated designs.

Starting with this, the idea of a hand-painted crown emerged as the central object of the new branding, which contrasts with the serif font.

The crown as a motif works on several levels, as the M and V can be recognized and the shape of a crown can be found in the knitting process of their beanie. Since all pieces are made by hand, the logo should also convey the feeling of a one-of-a-kind piece in order to draw the connection back to craftsmanship. Since Modus Vivendi exclusively produces gender neutral fashion, the color palette was also kept in neutral colors. The new branding can be found on all office stationary and was also used by the designers for their new collection.
