Gault&Millau Guide South Tyrol

Development, Editorial Design, Art Direction

The Gault & Millau Gourmet Guide South Tyrol 2021/2022 marks the debut of a new format by Burda Verlag for their Gault & Millau guides.

For the first time, the realm of exquisite tastes is consolidated into four categories: wine, gastronomy, hotels, and shopping. Features with large-format photos offer insights into various regions of South Tyrol and provide pertinent background knowledge.

The dominant color of the guide is Gault & Millau’s corporate design red, seamlessly integrated into the cover, adorned with an illustration of the Schlern.

The design is structured and kept simple to avoid detracting from the content. Operational pages adhere to a strict grid to effectively present the extensive content. The features introduce variety and freedom while establishing a connection with the new Gault & Millau magazine through the use of the same fonts, thereby creating an additional alignment. In this way, the Gault & Millau Gourmet Guide South Tyrol serves as a connecting element between the previously published wine guides and the magazine. The guide underwent expert testing and evaluation of 96 wineries, 133 restaurants, 103 hotels, and 174 other establishments. With this guide, not only winemakers and restaurateurs but also hotels, food producers, alpine pastures, bakers, and other hidden gems receive their well-deserved moment in the spotlight.
