Ingrid Oberkanins

Branding, Video
Sound on Sound off

For Ingrid Oberkanins everything revolves around beating.

She prefers to beat the snare, timpani, conga, hang, djembé, cajon, vibra, marimba, toms, cymbals, tubular bells, udu, angklung, agogo, large drum, woodblocks, tamtam, bongos, surdo, triangle, caxixi, cowbell, shaker , pandeiro, maracas, castanets, frame drum. Ingrid Oberkanins is a jazz musician and composer. Now, she wanted a branding and a website. An exciting undertaking, because how do you manage to tame something as individual as jazz music?

The answer is: you don’t.

You let it live. Inspired by this concept, brand unit created a video in which, guided by music, Ingrid’s name is stamped wildly but on beat onto empty cards. Randomly, spontaneously but with direction and a goal. Ingrid Oberkanins herself, her instruments and her music are the focus of further videos. Inspired by Dadaism, brand unit designed the corresponding branding. Not only does music guide the visitors acoustically on the website from one page to the next, but also through onomatopoeic terms. Cloonck. Doomdoom. Rakatazack. This made it possible to create an outline and structure that does not interfere with the nature of jazz music but accompanies and continues it. Badaboom.
